Text manipulation features

#1

This is a minor request,

The ability to make multiple lines align either at the end or at the start.
This option would appear in the right-click menu when more than one line is selected

Eg.

//Before
Line 1
  Line 2
    Line 3

//After, align-left
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3

//After align-right
    Line 1
    Line 2
    Line 3

Sorry for filling up the forum, I wasn’t sure whether to just put everything in one post

This should be easy enough.

There are lots of simple editor features that would be great such as this.

  • sorting
  • indenting and alignment
  • sophisticated clipboard
  • case manipulation
  • etc.

It is all just a matter of our bandwidth and prioritization.

We’ve assumed that since there are hundreds of text editors out there and you can associate other editors with the SkookumScript .sk extension and load them up from the SkookumIDE when you press Ctrl+E. See a little more info in Editors page in the online docs.

Because of this we have been prioritizing other areas such as tapping into as much power as possible from UE4.

Of course we want to get editor features in there too so we’ll sneak in such stuff whenever we can.

You telling us about the features you want will help us to prioritize.

Separate posts like this are best so that add on comments are all related.

Another minor request;

The ability to insert or remove empty lines between the selected lines

For example,

//Before
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3

//After, add lines
Line 1

Line 2

Line 3

The remove lines option would do the reverse
These options would be found in the right-click context menu or their own menu when multiple lines are selected

I think that SK could benefit from a range of quick and intuitive formatting tools for managing multiple lines of code, either dedicated to their own menu or as a category in the right-click menu and/or as hotkeys
