Due to the number and size of our binary files our GitHub repository has recently grown totally out of bounds - several gigs and counting - so after much soul-searching and with a heavy heart we have decided to nuke and resurrect our GitHub repository just one more time. Sorry for the trouble!
We have created a new mechanism for transferring those “large files” - the UE4 build scripts will automatically download them from skookumscript.com when needed for a particular build you are doing. This way the files get downloaded only when actually required for a build. Once downloaded, the binaries are cached on your local drive (in the
Engine\Plugins\SkookumScript\Runtime\Intermediate folder) and used henceforth for building the SkookumScript plugin.
If you have cloned our previous GitHub repository already, here is how you switch to the new repository:
- Move your current
Engine/Plugins/SkookumScript folder to a temp folder of your choice, outside of your Unreal Engine installation folder.
- Clone a brand new version of the plugin from the new repository by simply following the usual first time installation instructions.
- If you like, copy SkookumIDE user settings from your old installation to the new installation (
- You can now delete the old installation from your temp folder (or keep it around if you like)
Sorry again for the inconvenience and let us know how this new system works out for you!
